Share and share some more

In 2022, we will be featuring the stories of everyday runners & asking why they started and how they stay motivated?  And what advice they would offer to someone just starting out?  We are very please to kick off this series with Andrea Eggleston.  You will see this friendly face at so many of our events.  When you do, feel free to say hello.  Andrea will always greet you with encouragement and a warm smile!  Thank you, Andrea, with sharing your journey with us!

Why did you start running?  I was unhappy with me mentally and physically I knew that something had to change as I was not getting any younger and I wanted to change the healthiest and most natural way, I started to walk then moved up to running in 1 year with only walking and running I lost 98 pounds . But I became a better person for me and those who are in my life.

How did you get started?  Ear buds on with music and world off, I made time for me each day I dedicated 30 minutes of ME time each day

What is your favorite Hometown Happenings event?  All are my favorite I love the themes and the yummy food afterwards, I have met many fellow runners that have great support for each other I may not know their names but at races you always get a “hi it’s great to see you again” .

Whtat goal do you still wish to accomplish in running?  To continue to be the best for me, running helps me with that to become a better Mom, Daughter, Friend, co worker and my best title MIMI

What is your best advice for someone who is just starting?  After I lost all my weight I got a tattoo that says “miles to go” just my reminder that there are always more miles to go in running , walking and life in general . It’s not about the time on the clock, it is about crossing that finish line
