Welcome! Hometown Happenings Inc. is excited to introduce the Hometown Market, a unique artisan market
event. We have a variety of talented entertainment coming each week to give market goers a reason to come back each & every week!
When: Our first series of Hometown Markets will take place on Tuesdays, May 11th through July 13th, from 5:00 – 8pm, at the Show Pavilion across from the horse arena at the Lake County Fairgrounds. There is a playground area in the vicinity for kids and picnic tables to enjoy food and entertainment.
Meet our Entertainment! We will have both a Main Stage which will feature the main act for the evening from 6-7 pm. We alos offer a Market Stage which will feature kids’ sctivitiies or vendor demostrationss from 5:30 – 6 pm.
Billy Ozzello of Dynamite Music – Billy has performed for thousands as part of a nationally known band and has owned Dynamite Music since 2013. A mainstay in Griffith, IN, they keep a huge selection of instruments and amplifiers on display, from guitars to Basses and drums. Dynamite Music also offers lessons for all stringed instruments, piano, drums, and brasswinds. They also buy, sell and trade gear as well.
John Fister – Likened to John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Jack Johnson, he aims to be the next J-name singer/songwriter on that short list. John’s musical background includes performing with the Notre Dame Glee Club and “The Undertones,” both of which toured worldwide. After recording his 2009 album, “Never On Time,” John embarked on a national tour covering over 12,000 miles. John even sung backup for Josh Groban on his 2013 world tour.
Grant Fitch, Storyteller – Grant brings stories to life through stories, songs, and stacks of picture books. Grant also performs dramatic readings of classic literature for crowds of teens and/or adults.Grant’s main focus – for any age range – is showing that there are great stories in the books all around us … and that reading is fun.
HGS Music Students – Northwest Indiana’s Favorite Music School, HGS Music specializes in guitar, bass, drums, voice, piano & violin. We are honored to welcome their students performing at our Market!
Homann Karate DO Students – Homann Karate offers karate for 3 years old through adults. Over 45 years of experience. Classes taught by a 9th degree black belt & former USA Team member with National and International Champion experiences. Changing lives one belt at a time.
Bonnie Meyer, Author – From the time she was a young girl, Bonnie wanted to be a writer. Story telling was a gift handed down from her father. Bonnie’s wife, who is a native of Amsterdam, is credited with teaching her the Dutch words for frog and butterfly, which are “kikker” and “vlinder”. Bonnie has written 7 books in the series.
Steel Remedy: Students and friends who like to jam to classic rock from 60s to 90s. Sam Weber – Bass. Rudy Johnson – Guitar. Nathan Mayersky – Vocals. Tyler Moore – Drums.

Tone Bank Jazz Quintet – This Jazz quintet consists of student musicians from Crown Point High School with professional talent, work ethic, and potential.
Willy’s Works Fireworks – Willy’s Works has been in business for over 30 years in crown point Indiana. Best known for fireworks sales, and CeLeBrAtIoNs! This includes Willy Wednesday; an annual community event that draws well over a thousand fans, customers and spectators. Willy has always been passionate about helping others.
